Our Adult Assessment Packages

At Brilliant Minds Psychology we strive to be a centre of excellence for assessments. We provide a unique experience for adult assessment of intellectual disability and autism assessment. Our assessments are comprehensive and guided by best assessment and based on the DSM-V criteria. A cognitive and intellectual test is a comprehensive assessment that involves gathering information on an individual's peformance on a standardised test of intelligence. The goal of a cogntive assessment is to further understand an individual's cognitive abilities and profile. The WAIS-IV is the test used for adults and older adolescents (16-90 years). It provides an estimate of general intellectual functioning.
  • This package includes the following:
  • 1. A one hour intake to gather background information. A series of questionnaires are sent out to further assess adaptive living skills, disability severity level and your social skills.
  • 2. Two hour cognitive assessment of general intelligence using the WAIS-IV.
  • 3. Feed back session - 50 minutes.

  • This is often the assessment recommended when an intellectual impairment is suspected.
  • This assessment does not assess for ADHD, Autism or executive functioning difficulties.

Package 2. Adult Autism Comprehensive Assessment (14 hour)

  • We offer a comprehensive autism assessment for adults at Brilliant Minds Psychology. Our Adult Autism Assessment Package includes the following.
  • 1. 2 hour Autism Diagnostic Interview with adult to gain background information. Following your first appointment a series of questionnaires are required to be completed to further assess social skills, disability severity level and adaptive functioning.
  • 2. Cognitive assessment using the WAIS-IV (90-120 minutes)
  • 3. ADOS-2, Module 4 (1 hour)
  • 4. Feedback session 50-60 minutes.
  • Comprehensive Report with recommendations (5 hours).

Package 3: NDIS Review Assessment Package Assessment (12 hours)

Package 3: NDIS Review Assessment Package Assessment

  • Our assessment includes the following:
  • Session 1: Up to 2 hours intake session - including a review of your current goals in your NDIS plan, supports currently receiving, identifying ongoing goals. This session also focuses on obtaining background information. This interview further assesses your adaptive living skills using an evidence questionnaire. (up to 120 minutes). This first session will further assess whether this is the most appropriate package for you.
  • Following this interview questionnaires are sent to a parent or carer for collateral information when possible and with client consent.
  • Session 2 : Up 2 to hours - The second session focuses on assessment of social skills and disability related questions (60 to 120 minutes). All items used are evidence based measures.
  • Session 3: 90-120 minutes. Cognitive Assessment - WAIS-IV (90-120 minutes) plus 1 hour scoring results.
  • Session 4: 1 hour - feedback session
  • Comprehensive Report: A comprehensive report based on 5 hours of clinical time addressing NDIS Goals, Current Supports, NDIS Critieria and summarising all assessment results. (Report is completed within 2-3 weeks of assessment completion).
  • Please note we charge additional fees based on our hourly rate for any work beyond this scope.
  • We have our team of psychologists and provisional psychologists that conduct Package 3. All reports are signed off by our Director and Clinical Psychologist Dr. Jenni Silva.
